Mahesh K. Kotecha, President, Structured Credit International Corp.
Mr. Kotecha is President and founder of Structured Credit International Corp. (SCIC). For ten years prior to forming SCIC, Mr Kotecha was a Managing Director of MBIA Insurance Corporation, CapMAC and CapMAC Asia and an Alternate Director of ASIA Ltd. (Singapore), which he helped found. Before joining CapMAC, Mr. Kotecha was a Senior Vice President and Director for Market Analysis and Product Development in the Asset Finance Department at Kidder, Peabody & Co. Until 1987, Mr. Kotecha worked for Standard & Poor's Corporation (S&P), where he founded and headed the international public sector credit ratings practice, with responsibility for all credit ratings on non-US municipalities, sovereign governments, supranational borrowers as well as European and Japanese financial institutions and industrial companies owned or largely controlled by national or regional governments. In Africa, he led the team that did the first ratings of African Development Bank Prior to joining S&P, Mr. Kotecha worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Previously he worked at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for three years.
Tony Carroll, VP, Manchester Trade
Mr. Carroll has been working as a commercial lawyer and business consultant in Africa for 35 years and he has served on the Africa advisory boards at EXIM Bank, OPIC, USTR and was also a congressional nominee to the Board of the Millennium Challenge Corporation. His career has taken him across the length of the continent and into both public and private sector transactions. At Manchester Trade Tony serves businesses that have a stake in guarding against, reducing, or eliminating government-imposed obstacles to international trade and trade-related transactions in Africa. It has successfully shielded its clients from excessive import duties, costly customs entry procedures, import quotas, and a myriad of other non-tariff barriers to trade and investment flows. Tony is an adjunct professor at School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, and Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic & International Studies.

Paul Trustfull is the founding editor of Forbes Afrique, the French edition of Forbes that is distributed in 23 francophone countries in Africa and founding writer of Forbes’s Emerging Markets custom content category. He has fostered important international business relationships with CEOs and heads of states that have proven invaluable in developing new business––specifically the African business sector––for Forbes magazine. He has travelled extensively to meet and interview some of the world’s most intriguing leaders such as President Joseph Kabila of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea; Lamido Sanusi, former Nigerian Central Bank Governor, and President Mikheil Saakashvili of the Republic of Georgia.
Thomas W. Laryea, Partner, Dentons

Prior to Dentons, Thomas was Assistant General Counsel at the International Monetary Fund, where he was responsible for the IMF’s legal relations with each of its 187 member countries, capital markets legal work and sovereign and private debt restructuring.
